Agnidev Chatterjee’s new film ‘A Political Murder’ is a Political drama just as the name suggests. The director with this film explores another sensitive issue after making movies on issues like ‘sex starvation leading to extra-marital affair (Charulata 2011)’, ‘Sexual violence against women’ (Teen Kanya) and dual married life of a man (Mrs Sen). Agnidev deals with the subject of a huge scam related to misusing of educational funds worth Rs 1000 crore.
Debarati Gupta’s debut film ‘Hoi choi’ opened up at Priya Cinema Hall amidst a lot of fanfare as the film has a lineup of some of the most sought after Tollywood actors like Rahul, Priyanka, Vikram, Paoli Dam and Rudraneel.
The premiere of ‘Nodi re Tui’ that was held at Priya cinema hall saw the presence of its cast and crew which included Abhiraj and Moubani Sorcar along with director Kingshuk and other film and television personalities like Oindrilla and Subhasish Mukherjee.

The premiere of Shyamal Basu’s film Neel Swapno took place at Indira cinemas on Friday. Present at the premiere of the film was director Shyamal Basu, producer Subodh Chhajer, actors Akash, Moumita and Divya. Actors Bhaskar Banerjee and Dolon Roy could not make it to the premiere show due to some prior work commitments.
Shyamal Basu directed Neel Swapno released on the 26th of July. The premiere show of the film which took place at Indira cinemas was able to pull a modest number of audiences for the first day show of the film.
Director Utsab Mukherjee under the banner of HD Entertainment, made his debut with a ‘social satire’ presenting young guns Saheb Bhattacharya, Mumtaz Sorcar and Riddhima as the lead cast. ‘HALF SERIOUS’, is an offbeat film where the Gods and common people from the Heaven and the Earth respectively come together revealing the ‘present societal gender inequalities’ in an ironical manner.
